Wilson's Bird of Paradise

An Indonesian endemic, the Wilson's bird-of-paradise is distributed to the hill and lowland rainforests of Waigeo and Batanta Islands off West Papua.  The common name honors Edward Wilson, a British naturalist who bought the specimen that was eventually used to describe the species.
